Pat Shortt says RTE chiefs should consider a comedian Late Late Show host - and give it a 'major shake up'
Pat Shortt has said Late Late Show bosses shouldn't rule out a comic to host the show - and the D'Unbelievables star said the Friday night chat show is in serious need of a "major shake up".
"No. Well maybe, maybe.... My view on it is that the show needs a shake up. What that is, I don't know. I'm not a TV producer who makes those decisions. Pat - who attended Punchestown Races in Kildare on Thursday - said RTE should take inspiration from American chat shows for its future format.Asked if he thought a woman should be its next host after Ryan Tubridy steps down on May 26, he said: "Maybe so and everyone says it should be a woman because it has been men doing the line but if they're good enough to do it, absolutely.
