The piece is contained inside a refreshed Calatrava case with an intricately embellished outer rim – the textured charcoal dial is circled with a black gradient, nodding to the effects of vintage photography in a subtle marriage of the classic and the contemporary. The watch forms a key part of the brand’s 2022 releases, sitting alongside new pieces that continue to explore multiple time zones through a technical lens. Three new World Time models intertwine this horological feat with a considered aesthetic, incorporating both enamelled and guilloche dials. Other new pieces, including the Ref 5205R-011, Ref 4910/1200A-011 and Ref 7130R-014, play with a gradient of colours, and are characterised by a distinctive olive green.
Exquisite artistry is celebrated in the remaining models, with intricate gem-setting on the Ref 5374/300P-001 encompassing a hypnotic loop of baguette-cut diamonds and sapphires, which circle the dial in a nod to the house’s heritage with the technique. The double circle of brilliant-cut diamonds on the Ref 7121/200G-001 model is offset by its blue sunburst dial and moonphase.
