The couple have two young children and live in London
In just a few week's time, comedian-turned-TV presenter and broadcaster, Patrick Kielty, will take over RTÉ’s Late Late Show following Ryan Tubridy’s exit.
His comedy career led him to landing broadcasting roles in both radio and television with BBC, ITV and Channel 4. His most recent documentary, Patrick Kielty: 100 Years Of Union , which analysed Northern Ireland’s place in the UK, bagged him a Royal Television Society award for best presenter. “Everybody said they were sorry, everybody hugged us but nobody said they couldn’t believe it. That is how things were up there, that was the normality of it,” he said.
He told The Tommy Tiernan Show this year that he and Cat got together after he flew all the way to the USA to see her after he made a drunken phone call to her while in his local pub. “I call her and ask her what she’s doing for her birthday. She says, ‘I am having a lunch tomorrow in the Beverly Hills Hotel and it’s a shame you’re not around’. So I said, ‘I’ll be there, so’.”
