Patrick Kielty revealed what his plans are for the Late Late Show this year as the show returns to RTE on Friday night - including plans to go on the road and travel the country to meet audiences
Late Late Show host Patrick Kielty has revealed "big surprises" are in store for the new season of the chat show - as he tells us he's hoping to finally take the show on the road.
"I think it's coming together which will be exciting, he added. "I'm hoping to maybe take the show on the road at some point this year too, maybe out of Dublin. There are lots of different things we are trying." Opening up about his nerves before the show, he admitted he definitely feels less nervous compared to last year. He said: "It definitely feels exciting without as many nerves as the last time. It doesn't really matter how relaxed you are, there is that moment where you're out the back on the set, they count it down and the drums of the music starts and at that point, you're back to being seven or eight years old, sitting watching it with your mam and dad...
Asked what legacy he would like to leave behind, Patrick said: "You never think about legacy. That feels grandiose but I think every week, all I want to do is to make the show that people want to watch that week. I just take it week by week in terms of what are we doing this week and what will people like and so I think that is what it is about. I think all that other stuff is just noise.
