Paul McShane says it’s no surprise that so many Irish players from his generation have moved into coaching.
David Meyler and Sean St Ledger are also on the current course and spent some time last week in UEFA headquarters with McShane. “It would be quite sad if they went out of the game. It’s great that they’ve gone and contributed to the game.”While he had begun studying for his coaching badges in his mid-20s, he didn’t expect his big break to come at his first professional club.
Suddenly McShane was back at United as an overage player in their Under-23 side and a coach in the youth set-up. “I’m not taking credit for him by the way. Just he’s doing everything I told him to do so he’s doing great you know!
