Charleville Main Street remains closed this afternoon as forensic investigators attend the scene of the tragic incident
Emergency services attended the scene of an accident shortly before 1pm on Friday on Charleville's Main Street, after reports that a male pedestrian had been struck by a lorry.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, while Charleville's Main Street remains closed this afternoon to allow for a full forensic investigation. Diversions are in place for local motorists.A Garda spokesperson told The Irish Mirror: "Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 12:45pm on Friday 28th April 2023 on Main Street, Charleville, County Cork.
Gardai in Cork have launched an investigation into the tragic incident and they are appealing for any witnesses, particularly motorists who may have dash-cam footage of the area between 12pm and 1pm this afternoon, to come forward. Anyone with any relevant information is urged to contact Mallow Garda Station on 022 31450, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
