The woman who died was in her 50s
An investigation is underway after it emerged that a pedestrian who died in a Wexford crash had left her car in a nearby lay-by.
Gardai are investigating the incident and the driver of the vehicle, who remained at the scene, was not arrested. Local sources said a vehicle believed to be connected to the woman was found in a lay-by near to the scene. Local councillor Pat Barden added: “It’s just tragic. What more can you say about it? It’s just turmoil for the families. Just coming up to Christmas it's hard for everybody involved.”
Garda forensic collision investigators also carried out an examination of the scene. Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
