The redshirt sophomore defensive end took to Twitter to discuss team-requested weight gain that led to an eating disorder and other mental health diagnoses.

Mostella wrote that these struggles began affecting his diagnosed anxiety and depression, something said he told to head coach James Franklin and defensive end coach John Scott. Mostella called it the darkest phase of his life. Following hospitalization for suicidal ideations in November, he said he was diagnosed with an eating disorder and a heart condition.

Mostella eventually decided to medically withdraw for the semester but said when he attempted to come back for the spring, the school said he was no longer enrolled.
