Police said the incident took place last Sunday between 9pm and 9.30pm in the Lee Street area of Oldham, while the man was walking home.
Two men have been arrested after an 87-year-old man was forced into a car and attacked before being dumped on a dark road, miles from his home.
Demands were made for his money and personal items, Greater Manchester Police said. He eventually found aid when he knocked on a door at around 10.40pm. A 24-year-old man was arrested this morning at an address in Royton on suspicion of kidnap. He remains in custody for questioning. 'Whilst incidents of this nature can cause alarm in the community, we do believe it was an isolated incident with no wider threat to the public.
