A pensioner has been seriously injured following a shooting incident that took place in Longford this evening.
He was rushed to Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar with injuries that gardaí have described as “serious but non-life-threatening”. READ MORE: Convicted robber is suspect behind chilling threat to kill Mary Lou McDonald and Garda Commissioner It’s understood that the man sustained the injuries when shots were fired through the window of a house in an estate close to the centre of the town.“Gardaí are investigating following reports of a discharge of a firearm at a residential premises in Longford Town, this evening, Wednesday 17th July 2024,” he said.
