Judge tells OAP his “sexually deviant behaviour” was “grossly invasive”
A pensioner who sexually abused his partner’s three-year old granddaughter was handed a nine year sentence on Friday.
During that period, the child spent time at her grandmother’s house. His offending emerged in August 2022 when the youngster told her mother that the defendant has touched her in the bathroom of her granny’s house. Judge Greene spoke of several aggravating factors in the case such as the breach of trust by a family member and the fact that the offending was repeated.
He added: “The child could not have asked for more supportive and loving parents to assist her. They will derive no comfort from me telling them that paedophile offenders pray on good people like them in order to gain access to the innocents they abuse.”
