Shiryn Wynter, who specialises in ‘flower scapes’, will showcase six to eight new pieces at the event, all of which are available to buy.Shiryn said: “I usually work from commissions, so I hardly ever have original pieces available, and these new pieces will be snapped up!
“Six years ago, I decided to take the leap and leave working full time to return to university, completing a BA Hons in fine art and a Master’s in fine art, a PGCE teaching art. I am now starting a PHD researching the link between art and mental health in education.Read more:Pic: Shiryn Wynter Art The artist aims to create the illusion of being able to step into the paintings and creates detailed ‘pocket-sized’ pieces that are so detailed that the observer ‘sees something different’ each time they look.Shiryn said: “I create horizontal, brightly coloured fanciful landscapes with a high horizon that aim to draw you in.“My landscapes draw inspiration from my surroundings, but my imagination decides on the composition and colours, blurring the lines between abstraction and the figurative.
Shiryn said the paintings have a ‘readable narrative’ fused with ‘sentiment and a utopian quality’ with depictions of imagined and invented landscapes, buildings, flowers, and trees that glow with luminous colours.
