They’ve been known to get queues going out the door
This cafe in the city centre has grown to be hugely popular in recent years, with the restaurant getting a full house most days and a queue out the door at the weekend. The Bagelry, located on Nelson Street in Chinatown, has been open for nearly a decade, and has really hit its stride with customers in recent years.
Hayley said: “We are slap bang in student central. It’s always busy here, but we get queues going out the door at the weekends.”READ MORE: Seaside town that's 'like being in the Mediterranean' when the sun's out She added: “Being on Nelson Street, and being the only non-Chinese owned business, we don’t want to take a place that isn’t ours - we want to be involved in the community. We love it here.
The Bagelry has a distinctly unique feel to it. It feels fresh and new, with pride flag wall hangings and bright art - there’s even a small rack of The Bagelry merch, like t-shirts and tote bags. You can tell that the place is geared towards students.
