Newcastle have knocked eight-time Carabao Cup winners Manchester City out in the third round of the competition.

The reigning Premier League and Champions League winners dominated in the first half, but were unable to find the back of the net against last season's finalists. It proved to be a frustrating evening for the side that were knocked out in the quarter-finals by Southampton last season, as the Magpies came out the traps in the second half in front of an electric St James' Park as Isak bundled the ball home on 53 minutes after controlling Joelinton's low cross.
