Pep Guardiola used the big occasion of Manchester City ’s trip to the Bernabeu on Tuesday night to wear an extremely rare and expensive watch.
It was a brilliant occasion in the Spanish capital – and Guardiola marked it by unboxing one of his most impressive time pieces. The City boss sported one of his classic looks – a black roll neck jumper and blazer – but it was his watch which caught the eye for some. While it originally retailed for $750,000 , it is now estimated to be worth double that at $1.5million , due to its rarity. Guardiola is no stranger to a fancy watch: he has a whole collection, including some more by Richard Mille.
Guardiola also has a much more classic Rolex Cellini – the watch favoured by former US president Barack Obama – and a catchily-titled Chopard Mille Miglia GT XL Speed Black FC Barcelona Chronograph, which was created to celebrate Barca’s 2008/09 season.Guardiola was frustrated with the result on Tuesday night and partly laid the blame on the Bernabeu pitch. "I haven’t set foot on it, but that’s what the players have told me," the City boss said.
