A petition has been launched to put an end to the new LEZ scheme in Glasgow.

The initiative was first launched back on December 31, 2018 in which buses were subjected to the Low Emission Zone scheme. However, come June 1, all vehicles will fall under the LEZ instructions.

Vehicles that do not comply are not allowed to enter and will be fined £60. Now, the scheme is being labelled as a 'dictatorship' and 'erosion of freedom' by angry Glaswegians. "Glasgow’s plan to phase in a city centre LEZ was announced in 2018 and since then there has been an extensive programme of communications and engagement to raise awareness of the scheme, its timescale for introduction and the availability of funding to ease compliance.
