The former Labour Prime Minister, the first and only person to date to lead the party to three consecutive general election victories, was the most controversial name in the Queen 's New Year Honours list.
More than 530,000 people have signed petition against Tony Blair's knighthood. It calls on the Prime Minister to petition the Queen to rescind the honour. It has become one of the most signed petitions on the Change.org website.
Former PM has long faced backlash over leading UK into war with Iraq in 2003. Total of 179 British Armed forces personnel died in Iraq and 457 in Afghanistan. Military mothers have also threatened to return Elizabeth Crosses in disgust. The petition can be viewed on Change.org by
