Dr. Paul Offit, a vaccine expert at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, criticized Pfizer’s move, saying evidence to date shows that two doses of the vaccine still protect against severe disease.
“The goal is no longer just protection against serious illness but protection against infection,” he said. “That is not a goal we have for any other vaccine.” But when it comes to kids getting three doses, Bogoch said, “I have no idea.
