The PGA Tour are yet to strike a deal with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF), but a group of the Tour's top players are set to meet with PIF next week

PGA Tour star Patrick Cantlay has confirmed players will hold a meeting with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia on Monday, after Tiger Woods and co were encouraged to sit down with their Saudi rivals.

Nine months on, though, the two sides are still yet to finalise any sort of deal, having previously set themselves a target of December 31 to complete an agreement, which was missed at the end of 2023. After a lack of updates on the back of the PGA Tour's decision to strike a deal with U.S.-based investor Strategic Sports Group in January, it appears the wheels between the American-based circuit and PIF are slowly starting to turn again. On Friday, Golfweek reported that the Tour's Player Directors were set to hold a secret meeting if Saudi chief Yasir Al-Rumyaan.

"Well, I’ve got to hear out what they have to say and I will always do my best to represent the entire membership whenever I am in a meeting in that capacity." More than open to hear what their Saudi counterparts have to say, he went on: "More information is always better.
