The Tiger Woods-designed El Cardonal at Diamante played host to the WWT Championship last week after the El Camaleon Mayakoba switched allegiances earlier this year
PGA Tour star Kelly Kraft slammed the Tiger Woods -designed course that played host to the World Wide Technology Championship, in place of the El Camaleon at Mayakoba.
It is fair to say not everybody was pleased with the debut of the Woods-designed setup though, after Kraft took to social media to vent his frustrations.READ MORE: Golf's top 10 highest earners in 2023 with intriguing PGA Tour and LIV Golf split "In my opinion this wasn’t my favorite course, and I’ve played on tour for a little while. Better luck next week," he did however thank the tournaments organisers, adding: "Side note, I will say that @wwt_inc did a great job with what they had. Thanks for the hospitality!" Instagram El Cardonal at Diamante was hosting the Mexican-based tournament for the very first time, after its former home El Camaleon at Mayakoba was picked up by LIV Golf.
In a statement obtained by Golf.com in December 2022, a Mayakoba spokesperson said: "The PGA Tour did not prior and still has not informed Mayakoba they will be not renewing the WWTC event at Mayakoba in 2023. Their agreement remains intact as of this morning.
