Phillip Schofield looks very different in a new trailer for his first TV project in almost two years after he dramatically walked away from his ITV career

The former This Morning presenter sensationally quit his role at ITV after admitting to an "unwise but not illegal" affair with a much younger male colleague in 2023. Following the news of the scandal emerging, Phillip stepped down from all of his public-facing jobs – including being an ambassador for the Prince's Trust. He quit This Morning after 21 years and also stood down from Dancing On Ice, a position he had held since 2006 until the show ended in 2014.

Speaking about his new role, a source told The Sun : "Over the past few months Phil has had quite a few offers for various things - but has steadfastly turned them all down. This sort of challenge has always appealed to him though and after consulting with friends and family, he decided to go for it. It's all been top secret, and has been an incredibly quick turnaround in order to keep the news quiet.

But the source added that while it was a "massive coup" for Channel 5 and huge news for Schofield, he is in no rush to return to his once lucrative telly career, adding that he was "still bruised". The TV platform had previously teased Schofield's appearance in a clip shared across social media.
