Kylie McKenzie announced she is filing a sexual harassment and assault lawsuit against her former tennis coach and the UTSA.
Phoenix area native and tennis professional Kylie McKenzie and her legal team announced Tuesday in a press conference they are filing a sexual harassment and assault lawsuit against her former tennis coach and the United States Tennis Association.
According to Allard, McKenzie became the subject of sexual innuendo and misconduct almost since the first day she started training with USTA. McKenzie said she had learned to disregard those actions and the sexual comments from coaches. Allard said for weeks Aranda took McKenzie to remote parts of the Orlando training center and harassed her, claiming his actions were coaching techniques.
"I experienced panic attacks at the USTA Center when trying to practice, and I had one so severe that a doctor had to be called to the center who then prescribed me Xanax in the training room," McKenzie said. "I grew up within the USTA system and I trusted them. I was hoping they would take this more seriously, but I was wrong," McKenzie said.
"Prior to the incident reported by Ms. McKenzie, USTA and USTA Player Development had no knowledge of prior harassment or inappropriate conduct by Anibal Aranda," Widmaier said.
