Photos have revealed the extent of damage caused after what appears to have been a head-on crash on a railway bridge.

A grey Range Rover and a black Hyundai both suffered a huge amount of damage but police have confirmed there were no serious injuries.The front right-side of the Range Rover was completely caved in, losing a tyre and suffering wreckage to the driver’s door.The impact of the collision caused part of the bridge wall that runs over the Thameslink railway line to collapse after being struck by the Range Rover.
The Hyundai, which appeared to be travelling in the opposite direction to the Range Rover, was also damaged and hit temporary barriers on the other side of the bridge that protects a footpath.
