Phyllis Eldridge — 1924-2022 [Opinion]
Día de Muertos is a big holiday for my family. My husband is from Oaxaca, Mexico, where this holiday is widely celebrated. This year my granny passed. Her name was Phyllis Eldridge, originally Phyllis Bear, and she was 97. She had a peaceful passing at home. I was lucky to see her at the very end. She loved mangoes so we’re going to put those on her ofrenda. She loved crossword puzzles, so we’ll put those, too. She was a big card player so we’ll put a few cards out as well.
El Día de Muertos es una gran fiesta para mi familia. Mi esposo es de Oaxaca, México, donde se celebra mucho esta fecha. Este año falleció mi abuela. Se llamaba Phyllis Eldridge, su nombre de pila era Phyllis Bear, y tenía 97 años. Murió tranquila en su casa. Tuve la suerte de verla al final. Le encantaban los mangos, así que los pondremos en su ofrenda. Le encantaban los crucigramas, así que también los pondremos.
