Large sums of cash, luxury jewellery, financial documents and high-powered cars have been seized in raids across multiple properties in a major garda operation in Cork.
They used intimidation to instill fear into their victims and charged exorbitant rates for substandard work. Officers seized ten vehicles, including two new-reg, top of the range Toyota Hi-Lux pick-ups a 191 Toyota Landscruiser and various other sports-cars, family saloons, jeeps and pick-ups.Some of the cash had been crudely wrapped in duct-tape and sports-socks, possibly to make it easier to conceal and transport. Large bundles of cash had been concealed in various homes.
