Some people think Yorkshire's walking routes have to be rural...well they are wrong
In Yorkshire , the quintessential is heading somewhere rural for a stroll, sometimes battling the elements, to be at one with nature. For others, a nice coastal amble is the order of the day.
And, if you do require something a little more serene then taking a step away from Leeds city centre, there’s a wonderful 20 or 30 minute walk which should hopefully leave you feeling refreshed and provide a welcome break - should you require one. Walking by the mural of Kalvin Phillips, alongside the other Leeds United legends, the stroll down the River Aire to Leeds Dock is one of the city’s underrated pleasures.
Of course, not the longest walk you’ll find in Yorkshire, but certainly of a distance which will go well towards your daily step count. It also provides some wonderful urban beauty in the shape of modern and traditional bridges and a plethora of canal barges.
