Perfect for walking off that Easter lunch

This week's suggested walk brings us to Leyland and a stop at a pub based in a 400-year-old building.

With the weather finally turning a bit warmer and two bank holidays to mark Good Friday and Easter Monday, there is no better time to be heading out for an adventure. The route does require crossing a busy bypass which will require caution but other than that it is largely based in quiet woodland and along the River Lostock.

The walk includes a break at the Dunkirk Hall, which was built in 1628 and was the original Lostock Hall and was transformed into a pub in 1985.It promises to offer a pleasant environment for all visitors including being a family and dog friendly pub with a pool table and beer garden. The open fire is perfect for cooler days while there is also a full menu for those who fancy a meal as well as a drink.

The walk covers a distance of around four-and-a-half miles and is adapted from one originally created by South Ribble Borough Council. It starts and ends at the playing fields at the end of Moss Side Way.
