Paddy Pimblett has claimed an opening-round victory in his fight, while Conor McGregor has exited the UFC fight in Las Vegas, limping and claiming a head injury.
claimed an opening-round victory when he submitted Benoit Saint-Denis in 52 seconds ahead of McGregor’s fight in Las Vegas. It brings Pimblett’s record to 24-4 following a loss to Justin Gaethje at UFC 324 in January of this year, after a unanimous decision.
Pimblett was being interviewed following his own fight while catching a glimpse of what was going on in the main event: “What’s happened? Oh my god, McGregor’s “Well he’s finished, the new boy is in town. The main man is here, know what I mean? I can become the face of the organisation now.
“But yeah, what a performance from me. Don’t wanna blow smoke up my own ar*e but, what a performance. ” McGregor took to social media after exiting the T-Mobile Arena limping, shortly after the fight with Holloway.
"My head gasket is gone. Destroyed. I had no injury / injuries going into the fight. I was throwing kicks, planted and jumping, all throughout camp as well as backstage before the fight.
This came out of nowhere. I am beyond dark here. I can only describe it as hell.
"He posted: “I was calm, ready, and confident. I am in shock what has taken place. The devil is literally staring at me right in front of my face here. I am not engaging. I will be at church tomorrow.
