Pimco just fired an employee suing it for discrimination — marking the third such termination since December
The firm terminated Andre Dowtin, another plaintiff in that suit, in December 2021. Pimco has fired three employees who are plaintiffs in a lawsuit accusing the asset management firm of discrimination, Insider has learned.
Each plaintiff is part of a suit filed in California in November 2020 that accused the firm of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Pimco hasThe terminations follow a string of complaints former employees have filed in recent years thatas a"fraternity." Pimco Chief Executive Emmanual"Manny" Roman, who was appointed in 2016, has publicly vowed to improve diversity and inclusion at the firm.
Nancy Abrolat, an attorney for the plaintiffs, said in a statement to Insider that Collazo is"within her legal rights to continue taking medical leave while recovering from medical procedures."
