Pixel 7 Pro review: Still the best Android flagship you can buy
. It’s crisp and smooth to use – fantastic for scrolling social media, watching YouTube and playing games – though we struggle to wield it with one hand.
The 50-megapixel main wide lens captures loads of detail, especially shining when used in bright conditions. For our initial tests we took pictures around London and were impressed with the colour accuracy and crispness of our images featuring people, buildings and the sky. The only letdown is cinematic video. It’s not a feature that we use much, but there’s visible distortion around some objects in the videos when tested. It was true six months ago, and it remains true today.The 7 Pro is powered by Android 13, and just like the rest of the Pixel line-up the software is pleasingly uncluttered, with no bloatware or unwanted apps in sight.
We routinely get a day-and-a-bit of daily use, when playing Spotify during a commute of two hours, checking emails, scrolling social media and watching YouTube for between 30 minutes to an hour. While we are not heavy gamers, that also drains the battery reserves faster.
