McKevitt had been given an official Garda warning that his life was in danger just days before the killing
This criminal, facing life behind bars after he admitted the murder of innocent Conor O’Brien, was under threat from gangsters at the time of the killing, it can be revealed.
It’s understood Dubliner McKevitt was delivering a takeaway to Mr O’Brien’s home in Enfield when he pulled out the gun and shot him dead. The Mirror has established that days before he murdered Mr O’Brien, McKevitt had been given a so-called Garda Information Message by detectives. John Fitzgerald SC, for the Director of Public Prosecutions, told Mr Justice Paul McDermott that McKevitt could be arraigned on count one on the indictment and that further counts may be required in due course.
Armed gardai quickly arrived on the scene – and arrested McKevitt when they found the Glock semi-automatic pistol on him.
