A fresh application has been put forward
The former JTF Mega Discount Warehouse in Hucknall could be set for a new lease of life with a homeware, garden and tools retailer keen on opening in its place. The Nottinghamshire-based JTF operated 12 shops and employed 500 staff but closed all of them in 2021.
Now, an application has been put forward to Ashfield District Council on behalf of UK Home Shopping Ltd to change the use of the site. The applicant is seeking legal interest in the land and to occupy the existing warehouse at the site.Tools-To-Go has been known for trading at the Lowmoor Business Park, in Prospect Close, Kirkby-in-Ashfield. But planning documents suggest the site in Kirkby has been sold to allow for Tools-To-Go to open in the former JTF warehouse.
"At the site, the applicant would like to combine this use so that the display of retail sale of goods is available to both members and also the public as a whole reflecting customer demand."
