A plane approaching Zamperini Field in Torrance with two aboard crashed while the pilot was attempting to land Wednesday morning, Nov. 30, authorities said.Torrance police and firefighters responded to the airport just past 11 a.m., Torrance police Sgt. Ron Salary said.
The plane was a single-engine Arion Lightning, according to Federal Aviation Administration officials, who confirmed two people were on board.The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the cause of the crash.
