A plan to build 71 flats on the ground of the former Shawbridge Arcade was approved.
The Wheatley Group asked for permission to build eight blocks of flats, which will be a mix of one- and two-bedrooms.
The development will consist of three- to five-storey buildings and seven properties will be wheelchair-accessible. The Shawbridge Arcade was built in the 1970s as part of the Pollokshaws redevelopment, but over time it became"very dilapidated and run down", according to the papers.Before the demolition, local artist Stephen Machin, aka Mack Colours, decided to liven up the Shawbridge Arcade at the beginning of 2022 with colourful artwork.Readers’ comments: You are personally liable for the content of any comments you upload to this website, so please act responsibly.
