Rishi Sunak won't answer our question on getting private jet to Blackpool - or why airport can't be reopened for commercial flights
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak failed to explain why he flew into Blackpool Airport on a private jet this morning .
LancsLive attended a conference in Morecambe, where the Prime Minister took questions from the public and members of the media over the levelling-up funds and what this means to the local economy, including plans for an Eden Project North in the town. However, when we asked Mr Sunak about his morning journey, he didn’t seem to want to answer the question at all.
The Prime Minister quickly changed the topic onto investment in Blackpool, instead wanting to discuss the new levelling-up funds for the town. £40m is set to be invested for a new carbon neutral university campus. He added: “Blackpool is obviously a place where deprivation is high and we really want to transform people’s opportunities in Blackpool and the quality of life and the MPs there, Scott and Paul, who do a brilliant job. That’s why it’s been one of the first places that we said, look how do we regenerate a town like Blackpool? And there was £40m."
