The project from Elon Musk’s Boring Company is expected to cost between $247 million...
Alamo Regional Mobility Authority Chairman Michael J. Lynd, Jr., listens to discussion during a Alamo RMA board meeting held at the Bexar County Public Works Department in San Antonio, Texas, on March 16, 2022. The RMA board voted to begin negotiations with Elon Musk's Boring Co. regarding a transportation project aiming to carry passengers between San Antonio International Airport and downtown.
Despite that move, Express-News business editor Greg Jefferson pointed out on this week’s episode of the Puro Politics podcast that RMA board members are vaguely embarrassed by the project, which carries an estimated cost between $247 million and $289 million. “They are loathe to say, ‘Yes, we are working out a development agreement with the Boring Company,’” Jefferson said. “To them, it’s all, ‘Further study. We’re talking about it still.’”
