The arrest were made in the early hours of Monday morning
A woman, aged 33, and a man, aged 38, were apprehended and charged on Bothwell Road at around 3am on Monday, January 2.
Officers uncovered £2,400 worth of Class A drugs and £2,500 of Class C drugs along with £7,000 in cash.The 33-year-old was charged with road traffic and drug offences, while the 38-year-old was was charged in connection with drug offences, weapons, causing a disturbance and perverting the course of justice.
A report has now been sent to the Procurator Fiscal and the pair were due in court on Wednesday, January 4. PC David Wall from Hamilton Police Station said “Criminal behaviour like this spreads harm and misery and we are committed to detecting and disrupting those intent on bringing drugs into Lanarkshire and enforcing that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated.”
