A Nottingham man who failed to pay a woman for a £500 coat has been caught. Natasha Harris, 29, of East London, contacted Nottinghamshire Police after a man failed to pay for a designer Moose Knuckles coat she had sold him online.

The matter was dealt with by the Restorative Justice process, which gives victims the chance to communicate with their offender to explain the real impact of the crime. This process also holds offenders to account for what they have done, while helping them to take responsibility and make amends.In this case the offender apologised to the woman and then paid her the agreed sum of £500. Pleased with the outcome, Ms Harris emailed Nottinghamshire Police to thank PC Lewis for his efforts.

She added: "PC Lewis not only went above and beyond to keep me updated in the case but managed to get a full payment back for me. From start to finish, he has been fantastic and showed that a case like mine, no matter how big or small, is taken care of with the utmost care and respect to the victim. The sofa was in a hallway when the neighbour allegedly saw an opportunity and dragged it on to their own property, damaging the sofa in the process. PC Lewis investigated and a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft by finding.
