A 21-year-old man from Osnabruck in northern Germany has been arrested after climbing onto the roof in Dortmund's Signal Iduna Park during the hosts' 2-0 win over Denmark
A man was arrested by armed special forces police officers after climbing onto the roof of the stadium during Germany’s win over Denmark at Euro 2024.
Referee Michael Oliver and captains Kaspar Schmeichel and Ilkay Gundogan were seen looking up at the roof, having noticed the presence of security in the rafters. The players looked bemused by what was going on. The 21-year-old, who has previously taken photos from high vantage points, has now been charged with trespassing and has been released from police custody while an investigation takes place. "The European Football Association and the Dortmund police will follow up on this situation and investigate how the accused was able to enter the stadium unhindered and get onto the roof," Dortmund Police said. UEFA declined to comment when contacted by Mirror Football.
