The Bridge Street area has been cordoned off by police
Police have cordoned off a section of Bridge Street in Lisburn after a suspected piece of historic munition was found.
Officers are currently at the scene of the incident and are asking pedestrians and motorists to avoid the area. It is understood that there will be disruption in the area as a result of the incident and police have said they are working hard to clear the area.Inspector Haughey said: “Cordons are currently in place and we are working to clear the area at this time. I appreciate this will cause some disruption for those impacted, however keeping people safe is paramount and we will not take any risks.
