Mr Adderley had served more than the standard 30 years for a police officer
Northamptonshire Police's chief constable Nick Adderley has returned to the role after just over a month into a temporary retirement. and had he worked without the break his pension would have been adversely affected.
He said he was “so proud” to have led the force temporarily and that its staff have an “overwhelmingly positive outlook and real passion for public service”.Northamptonshire’s police, fire and crime commissioner Stephen Mold said: “Any police force would be lucky to have Paul as their chief constable and I know he will be one soon. He came to us with a great reputation in policing and it is easy to see how he has earned that.
He said: “On many occasions I have stated that Northants Police has made great progress over the past few years but that there is much more to do, particularly in relation building stronger links with communities, developing the force’s ability to prevent crime, creating safer neighbourhoods and to earn and maintain the trust and confidence in the service we provide and the people who provide it.”
