The Dublin native was due to appear in Hamilton Sheriff Court for sentencing on Wednesday
Police in Scotland are hunting 35 year-old former Republic of Ireland international, Anthony Stokes, after he failed to appear in court.
Mr. Stokes' solicitor, Bobby Reid, told the court: "I was due to appear with Mr Stokes today but have no explanation for his absence." Sheriff Macfarlane replied: "He didn't attend the appointment for the social work report and is not here today therefore a warrant will be granted for his arrest." A warrant for Mr. Stokes' arrest was first issued in 2021 after he failed to appear to be sentenced over the charges however hours after it was issued, the brazen striker posted a selfie on social media with the caption: "Any bad news?"
