Detectives are seeking information following an attempted armed robbery at a restaurant in Bangor

The Police Service of Northern Ireland is appealing for information following reports that a man attempted to rob a takeaway in Co Down at gunpoint on Thursday night.

He demanded money from a male member of staff but ultimately fled on foot empty-handed in the direction of Lord Warden’s following the incident. There were no reports of any injuries. “The man is described as being aged in his 20s and of slim build,” said Detective Sergeant Bell of the PSNI.“Enquiries are continuing and police would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to this investigation to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 1904 19/10/23.
