The school sent a message to parents and pupils
Nottinghamshire Police have stepped up patrols near a school following reports that a pupil was followed by two men. Officers were called to Albany Junior School in Pasture Road, Stapleford, at around 9.30am on Tuesday, February 7.
The school, for children between seven and 11 years old, urged pupils and parents to be "extra vigilant". In a statement on its official Facebook page on Tuesday, the school said: "We have been alerted that this morning two males aged 20-30, dressed all in black, were following one of our pupils - we have notified the police. Please be extra vigilant on the walks to and from school.
Inspector Mike Ebbins, neighbourhood policing inspector for Broxtowe, said: “We are currently working closely with the school to understand the full circumstances of this incident. I have increased patrols in the area to offer reassurance to pupils and parents and would encourage anyone with concerns to speak to one of my officers.
“Anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident, and who may have information which could help us with our inquiries, is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 145 of 7 February 2023, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.” Albany Junior School declined to comment further on the matter.
