BT is reporting the rise in calls following an Android update that triggers an SOS call when a button on the side of your phone is pressed five times. Now, anyone who makes an accidental call is being urged to not hang up and let call handlers know they are safe.Android users are also being advised they can check their emergency dial settings by going to Settings and looking for SOS Settings in the Options section.⚫ If you do accidentally dial 999, please don’t hang up. If possible, please stay on the line and let us know you are safe.
