An investigation is underway after a woman was raped in Leeds during the early hours of this morning.
At 2.45am on Thursday, June 29, officers from West Yorkshire Police were called to Roseville Road, at the junction with Bayswater Road, following reports of a sexual assault. Police confirmed a female victim is being supported by specially trained officers at this time. A scene has been put in place around a grassed area at the junction where the attack happened. Forensic examination is underway and police officers are guarding the scene.Anyone with any information is asked to come forward immediately. Confirming the details of what happened, a spokesperson for WYP said: "At 2.45 this morning police received a report of a serious sex assault on Roseville Road at the junction with Bayswater Road in Leeds. A scene is in place to undergo forensic examination.
"Specially trained officers have been supporting the female victim. Anyone who witnessed the incident or who was in the area at the time is asked to contact Leeds Safeguarding Team via 101, quoting log 176 of June 29."
