MPs back report saying Johnson lied to Parliament
She said that the day the report was published was"a day that saw British parliamentary democracy vindicated against an unprecedented attack". She said:"It's quite ironic that two years ago I was thrown out of parliament for calling Johnson a liar. The siblings were killed in a Wembley park in northwest London in 2020 during the time that the country was in lockdown, the MP said.
Ms Phillips continued:"So there were people in our country who listened to Boris Johnson talking on the television."They understood the rules and it costs them their lives in a completely different way than that has been discussed so far."SNP MP Ian Blackford says the report is"confirmation: Boris Johnson is a liar".
"Some of the defences I've heard today look a little bit like people dancing on the head of a pin and frankly they were laughable.Then she turns on Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who is not in the house this evening and has been accused of ducking the vote. Denouncing the punishments in the report as"vindictive" and"ridiculous", he said it was legitimate to criticise a Commons committee and its members.
