BREAKING: A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: “We are aware of the footage and are considering it.” following the release of footage showing Tory staff at a Christmas party during lockdown. Sky's AliFortescue has the latest 📺 Sky 501 and YouTube

A Scotland Yard spokesperson has said on the partygate video that has emerged from the Tory Party headquarters:"We are aware of the footage and are considering it."Former first minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon, has spoken in public for the first time since she was arrested and released without charge six days ago amid a police investigation into the SNP's finances.

Mr Warburton said the"malicious allegations" and"flawed" 14-month investigation had"inflicted unimaginable and intolerable destruction on my family and on me". They said that any aim to reduce the length of investigation"must always be balanced against the paramount requirement to ensure that investigations are rigorous and robust".

She said:"The fact that it's come the day before father's day - many of us, like myself, I lost my father in April 2020 - to wake up on father's day to see this video is a punch in the stomach for the bereaved." "Now, that was in the context of energy bills, and at one point Liz Truss announced the biggest ever scheme in the history of the UK, a huge amount of borrowing, to stop people's energy bills going up... on a scale of thousands of pounds a year.

"But what's confusing everybody is that people aren't stopping spending... And that means inflation isn't going down fast enough."Video showing Tory staff at Christmas party during lockdown is 'terrible', Michael Gove admits "While it will get people cross again, I don't know that videos like that will have a transformative effect on the political landscape.

With interest rates set to rise again later this week, economist and former deputy governor of the Bank of England for monetary policy, Sir Charlie Bean, told Sophy Ridge on Sunday that the current economic environment is"certainly a tricky situation at the moment for the bank and for the government."

Sir Charlie also defended the Bank, saying that external shocks such as COVID, the war in Ukraine, and rising oil and gas prices are responsible for inflation. "There may be things it wants to do to alleviate pain on particular parts of the population, poor households or whatever."I think that's risky territory to get into because of course if you do that and reduce the pressures on those with mortgages, that reduces the extent to which the economy slows and just means the Bank has to raise interest rates even more.

On the financial cost to rebuild Ukraine, she said that four thousand billion dollars will be needed.
