The Vatican said that Pope Francis had 'suffered a fall' and was 'being treated' for an arm injury, although the 88-year-old pontiff did not fracture his arm
Pope Francis has taken a fall, injuring his arm, the Vatican has confirmed. This incident follows closely on the heels of another fall that left him with a noticeable bruise on his chin.
The 88 year old pontiff, who often uses a wheelchair due to ongoing health issues, sparked speculation before Christmas when he attended a church ceremony sporting a noticeable facial injury. Despite appearing slightly weary, the Pope continued with the planned ceremony at St. Peter's Basilica to appoint 21 new cardinals.
Earlier this month, the Mirror exclusively reported that King Charles is set to have an historic meeting with the Pope during his first major Royal tour of the year to Italy. Charles will have a private audience with Pope Francis during his high-profile trip to Rome in the spring, reports the Irish Mirror.
