Michael John Murphy, a father of two young boys from Co Mayo, Ireland, tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle accident on Thursday. The 40-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in Ballycroy. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage to assist with their investigation. Locals have described Mr. Murphy as a well-known and respected member of the community.
Michael John Murphy, who was in his 40s, died in the single-vehicle accident in Co Mayo at around 10am on Thursday.
Mr Murphy was originally from Westport, but had been living in the Belmullet area of Mayo for several years. It reads: "The death has occurred of Michael John Murphy, Belmullet and Upper Drummindoo, Westport, tragically. "Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Westport on Monday at 11:00am with funeral proceeding to Aughavale Cemetery."
